La Ofrenda is a Jazz influenced project led by Mexican-American vocalist Pressley Murillo. With a deep love for the Jazz tradition and the heavy influence of Latinx pop/folk music of her childhood in Southern California, she has assembled a variety of original and beloved arrangements to showcase a unique musical perspective. Featuring an unusual instrumentation of acoustic and electric guitar as well as double bass/cello, drums, and vocals. La Ofrenda combines the Passionate story telling of Latinx music with lush Jazz harmonies, for a unique take on famed tunes such as Sabor a Mi and Selena Quintanilla-Pérez’s Si una Vez. Pressley hopes you enjoy La Ofrenda’s re-telling of these classics. A monthly ukulele jam circle at Hero's Welcome - mostly seniors but all ages and skill levels are welcome! $5 donation recommended which goes to Hero's Welcome's charitable partners.
